Where is the Performing Arts Teacher of the Year?
In an age when funds for art programs are disappearing, performing Arts Departments are submitting reasons why their school has the best program and the best teacher. They are all competing for a grant to go directly to their program plus a $$500 cash bonus for their favorite teacher.
/Nevada News Articles/ - March 10, 2005 - National Talent Competition, Star Quest USA is searching for the best High School Performing Arts Department in the country so they can award them with a special grant and a special bonus for the best teacher. Each high school department that is entered into the search is nominated not only by the teacher, but by the students as well.
Star Quest USA is a National Talent Competition open to ages 4 - 104 in the categories of Singing, Dancing, Modeling, and Variety Acts. In 2005, Star Quest USA will give away $100,000 in scholarships, prizes, and cash to help further the dreams of talented individuals all over the country.
The search for the Performing Arts Department began after several years of successful competitions that center around the high school student. (Over 35 television appearances happened in 2004.) Star Quest USA wanted to give back to the Performing Arts world so they decided to create this annual grant and award program for the teachers across the country.
"Teachers, especially Art teachers, are one of the most forgotten professions in the country. Not only do they work their tail off, they devote countless hours and dollars to their programs because they run on passion...not money." stated Denise Rae, Producer of Star Quest USA.
Over the years, more and more Performing Arts Programs are being underfunded to make way for the required subjects. There are several organizations that are trying to do their part in helping high school performing arts programs stay vital in the United States.
Star Quest USA will be taking nominees to this Grant Program until June 1, 2005 but they suggest nominating a school as quickly as possible as they are evaluating schools on a first nominated, first considered basis.
