In collaboration with Mia Mikel, JAAM, Inc. has put together an online gallery bringing back the subtle eroticism of the 20' and 30's. RetroEroticPhotos.com features exclusively Mia Mikel's colorizing art of old retro photos. Mia takes the beauty of old nude black and white photography and adds her own vision of color and shading. Mia Mikel has shown work at galleries in and around Minneapolis, Minnesota area and most recently won "Contemporary Art Form (Photography)" at the Leech Lake Tribal College Spring Art Celebration, with works that then traveled to Two Rivers Art Gallery in Minneapolis for a summer show and an ongoing traveling show at various corporate sponsored art events around the Midwest. She recently has had her art chosen to adore the gateway to the Minneapolis Warehouse District in celebration of the creative works from Minnesota artists. In Mia's words "I have always felt deeply devoted to freezing a second of time and space and capturing a face, an expression, a mood and my latest works are moments captured by photographers who were often considered illicit and underground. I have brought back life to these photos by accentuating and coloring them in the mood of the women in the photos. Color and its effect on perception and feelings is a powerful influence in my all of my works and photographs. The realm of color, lightness and darkness is infinite. I am compelled to explore the effect of contrast that captures the eye and draws in the mind."
