TVS Television Network to Produce Boxing Illustrated Championships on TV4U.Com Free IPTV Network; Six Bout series to begin in North Dakota in September 24th
The TVS Television Network, the fourth oldest commercial TV network in the USA, will produce a series of six Boxing Illustrated championship fights in North Dakota beginning September 24th. Fights will be seen on TVS Sports.Com and TVS Boxing.Net
HENDERSON, NV, June 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Boxing Illustrated. Net continues its series of championship bouts on September 24th when it moves its championship series from the Silver Nugget Casino in N Las Vegas to North Dakota for a series of six championship fights.
The series began in July 2008 when former WBA featherweight champion Kevin Kelley won the Boxing Illustrated Lightweight title with a ten round decision over Jaime Palma in Las Vegas. Kelley subsequently lost the title to David Rodela in Tucson five months later.
The six championships will be held in Jamestown on September 24 and November 19, 2009 and then in 2010 on March 25, May 20, July 22, and August 19. The fights will be promoted by Seamco Sports,Inc.
The championship bouts will be seen live on TVS Boxing.Net and on a video on demand basis on TVS Sports.Com. Both IPTV channels are a part of the TV4U.Com 48 channel IPTV portal, which reaches 160 countries.
"We are delighted to be presenting fights in North Dakota for the Boxing Illustrated Championship Series," said Boxing Illustrated publisher Tom Ficara. "The series of fights will include championships in the heavyweight, cruiserweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight, and lightweight divisions."
TV4U.Com currenly presents more than 1,000 classic TV fights from the past 60 years of television. This includes the Pabst Wednesday Night Fights, the Gillette Friday Night Fights, the Stroh's Fight of the Month, the Video Techniques and TelePrompTer closed circuit championship fights, and the Muriel Cigars Saturday Night Fights . All are sen on TVS Sports.Com and TVS Boxing.Net.
Current fights featuring bouts from promoter Patrick Ortiz in Southern California also appear on the TV4U.Com network.
The Boxing Illustrated Championship fights are unique in that each fight card features a Boxing Illustrated Championship Fight, a Boxing Illustrated Showcase Fight, and a Boxing Illustrated Sterling Gloves Fight.. The Championship Fights favor the up and coming veterans; the Showcase fights feature the developing stars, and the Sterling Gloves fights feature newcomers with less than ten pro bouts.
"In effect, fight fans get to see three great fights every time we hold a Boxing Illustrated Championship event," Ficara continued. "We're Very proud of young men like welterweight Rynell Griffin, who is our Sterling Gloves welterweight champion from his outstanding performance at the Silver Nugget Casino in N Las Vegas last October."
Boxing Illustrated and TVS Sports.Com and the Silver Nugget are in negotiations with Nevada licensed promoters to add six more Boxing Illustrated championships at the Silver Nugget on months that fights aren't being held in N Dakota. Should no Nevada promoter be signed, the six events will move to Kentucky.
