Nevada's First Tire Recycling Plant Begins Operation
Phoenix Recycling Technologies announces the completion of their $5.5 million dollar waste tire recycling facility located in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, NV, December 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Phoenix Recycling Technologies (PRT) announces the completion of their $5.5 million dollar waste tire recycling facility located in Las Vegas. This new environmental friendly, state-of-the-art plant is the first full-service tire recycling facility in the state of Nevada.

The plant can process over two million car and truck tires per year with virtually all of the material being recycled. The recycled rubber is used in a wide variety of applications such as the rubberized asphalt paving process, infill material for sport fields and the manufacturing of molded rubber products.

Kelly Sockwell, PRT Director of Operations stated, "we are excited to have our operational phase underway, as of now we are running only one shift but just after the first of the year we will start a second."

PRT's Plant Forman, Scott Ward said, "all in all the installation, start-up and calibration of the equipment went well and we should be up to full production in the next couple of weeks."

Mr. Sockwell went on to say, "we are glad to be part of this community and provide the needed service of tire recycling to the citizens of Nevada but we look at our self more as a manufacturing company than a recycler. We are producing commodities that just happens to be made from waste, for each ton we produce it lowers the environmental impact of producing new materials."

Recently in Nevada, new state legislation Senate Bill 186, went into effect stopping the land-filling of whole tires and now requiring them to be recycled.

PRT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Phoenix Industries L.L.C., a U.S. based, engineering and technologies company that manufactures waste tire recycling plants and asphalt rubber blending equipment for worldwide distribution.
